Two RP150.4AB and a RP2000.1D

Read and watched a bunch of reviews on the skar RP series amplifiers and saw great reviews I decided to give the economical amps a try. These amps did not disappoint, powering 4 Crescendo Audio PWX 8” midbass, 4 Crescendo Audio FT1 super tweeters, 2 D250 compression horns, two pioneer 6x9 door speakers, and on the sub amp I have a Rockford Fosgate T2 12”. Very happy with the purchase of these amplifiers and would definitely recomend to anyone not looking to spend a fortune on good amps and still get performance your looking for.

Skar RP150.4AB and RP2000.1D

I purchased these amplifiers after watching hours of Youtube video's and reading countless reviews. I have always used Rockford Fosgate Punch series amplifiers but figured I would give Skar a chance. I took my time on my install and was meticulous to make sure the install was to my standard as I have been doing this for 35 years. When I first set my gains and high and low pass settings the amplifiers sounded great and I was pleasantly surprised. The problem happened when I shut the system off and the mids and highs produced a loud POP. From my experience that is an issue with the amp. I know back in the day some of the cheaper amplifiers would do that and we had to use a resistor or cap from the remote wire to ground to bleed off the excessive voltage and relays issue in the amplifiers circuit board. I don't think a amplifier that is bragged about by so many should do that. So my score given is based on the disappointment I experienced when the RP150.4AB produced the loud POP. I messaged Skar customer service and brought up my issue and all they replied back was I was on the right track.??? Not funny. Customer service should be there to solve problems not leave me hanging. Customer service did not offer a solution to my problem and a What do you expect me to do feeling I perceived from them. I hope this isn't to winded but facts are what they are...Facts.
The RP2000.1D worked as expected and I was happy with the results. It definitely puts out it's rated power with ease. My feelings of Skar audio are mixed between good and bad. I've dealt with a lot of company's in my time and have never had such a vague response from customer service ever. Come on Skar, I have a thread with over 52,000 views and feed back about my vehicles. One is all Rockford power and one is Skar powered and one had 0 issues and we know the other one .........
