Awesome subs , they sound very good for there size and series. Still can’t wait to hear them broken in ... I have two 8”s and a 1200 class D mono amp and they’re awesome... by the way the amp is more than enough for these two subs ! I’ll post new videos when subs break in and grills are installed!
I purchased 2 sdr8" subwoofers as a low budget project. I custom built a 2 cuft box tuned to 30hz with a 5"round flared end port. After about 2 weeks of breaking in I finally set the gains accordingly on a kicker 1200.1 amplifier (pushing 600@ 4ohms) The bass range on these little sluggers is amazing. They can hit the low 30s with ease moving air thru the cab of my 01 2 door blazer with authority! Nothing in this price range comes close to performing the way these do! I have people sit in the passenger seat and ask them what they think I have in the back and everyone thinks they are 12s. The response I get when I show them is exactly what I was going for, shock value!
I have four of these little beasts in my van pushed with the RP-2000.1D.... I don't know how many times people have come up asking how many 15's I have wired up. Dare I say, every time I decide to 'Crank It' I surprise even myself.
You'll never regret purchasing a couple or so of these Bad Boys!
These little speakers pack some punch. I bought four for my F150. Built a box with approximately .7 cubic ft of airspace per speaker, sealed. I'm running them with two 500 watt rms RockFord Fosgate amps at 2 ohms. 500 watts a pair. I used an Audio Control Lc2i with an ACR1 to control the accubass. IT IS TOO MUCH!! In a good way. I'm actually now going to be selling 2 of the subs and 1 amp to my niece. Even with the amps gains turned down the subs provide way more bass than expected. For the price I don't know how I could have asked for any better. Got these speaker on sale for $60/speaker. They got to me quick, and once installed they literally impressed the hell out of me. I can't speak to their longevity just yet being as they are only a week old, and haven't even been broken in properly. Oh and Skar's customer service is good. Had a question about how much air space the sub takes up inside the box, so I emailed them. Got a response within the day. I asked the question a little odd so I had to email again and got the correct answer back within the hour!! This is just my experience, but I will definitely not hesitate to purchase Skar products in the future. Oh, only one small complaint. The terminals themselves get in the way of installing the speakers. I had to make slight notches to the cut out for the speakers to fit easily into the opening. I will put pictures down below. It clearly did not affect performance but was a little annoying.
