  • The Skar Audio SK-M9005D full-range five channel amplifier offers high performance from an ultra-compact chassis. This Class D amplifier uses less power, takes up less space, and generates less heat than traditional amp designs, making it the perfect solution when space is at a premium and sound quality is the ultimate goal. Don't let its size fool you, the SK-M9005D boasts an impressive 900 Watts of power, providing the versatility to power multiple sets of speakers as well as a subwoofer system.

Skar Audio SK-M9005D 900 Watt 5-Channel Amplifier

This little amplifier is one heck of a powerhouse!!! I'm currently using this to power my complete system in my 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 which includes a set of TX65C 6.5" 200 Watt 2-way elite component speakers in the front doors, TX46 | 4" x 6" 140 Watt elite coaxial car speakers in the back doors, and 2 IX-10 | 10" 400 Watt subwoofers! All of this is being tuned up front by a Skar SKA7EQ 7-band equalizer. System sounds great!! Vocals not overpowering bass and vice versa very happy with my purchase.

The Little Amp That Could

I finally got around to installing this amp (6months after I received it....) I know, what kind of mobile audiophile tortures themself in this manner? I had to wait until I completed my secondary battery addition in my 2008 Chevy Tahoe LTZ. I had that crappy Blose (intentional spelling) system but I replaced my door speakers with Infinity Reference 6.5" components in the front doors (I drilled holes for the new tweeters instead of installing them in the factory A pillar location......those are still operating but are totally overtaken because, well....Blose!). The rear doors got the Infinity Reference 6.5" Coaxials. All 4 passenger doors occupy channels 1 thru 4 on the SK-M9005D. Channel 5 belongs to a single 12" Boston Pro Series subwoofer. It's a dual voice coil sub so I'm running it in parallel to optimize the 2 ohm power output. I have a 12.1" Android head unit that replaced the crappy factory boat anchor. I've had 2 years of suffering listening to my music channelled through the Blose amplification. When I finally heard sound coming through the 9005D I couldn't wait to run it through it's paces. With just a meager preliminary tune on the sound settings I jumped right in. I was a car stereo competitor in years past (MANY years past!) and I have a few Go To songs to pass through the tiny new addition to the #HauteHoe (she doesn't have a name, she has a Hashtag). First up is always Money For Nothing by Men At Work. This is an industry standard. And the mighty mite delivered acceptable sonic responses. That song is not a favorite of mine, although I do sing along every time I hear it....word for word even, so off to song #2. A personal fave for just this task. Swing Out Sister with Circulate. The voice does it alone but, the French horns! Wait for them. You'll be glad you did. I cranded up the volume to where I expected to hear some crackling a shrieking. But to no avail, that little amp kept chugging along. With a smile on my face I didn't even need to play the third song........but I did anyway because it's just a great, groovy, jazzy, bassy, tickle your eardrums jam by Pieces Of A Dream called We've Already Said Goodbye. By now I was singing along (albeit terribly off key!), praising The Little Amp That Could. And my laser thermometer never registered a temperature on the amp above 93 degrees. About 18 minutes of torture testing and not a single step was missed or tripped. Yes indeed, my #HauteHoe and I are back to windows down, volume up, lowered stances and lifted spirits. Good job Skar Audio.
