Great budget purchase, it can take some power! Running a mmats d200hc, really fits great lows and surprised me with the high and mid bass. Would definitely recommend if you're in the cusp of buying, you wont regret it
I've never had a sub this big in a vehicle before. I installed it yesterday and have it running off a Pioneer GM-D9601 Monoblock. This thing really pounds. I now hear everything that is loose in my Yukon. This is the best boom for the coin I spent. The box appears to be well built. The packaging was hammered on the outside when it arrived from UPS Ground. The driver was crying like a girl. "I can't believe they would ship something so big". Anyway, everything appeared to be undamaged. It's bad that in less than two hours of playing time, I was measuring to see if I could set another 18" enclosure next to the first one if it would fit. I'm thinking it can. I hope my old ears and body can handle it. Thank you Skar for putting out something nice and affordable.
This is one of the cleanest sounding subs I have heard. Plays lows very well!!
I used this sub in my home theater powered by a bridged Crown 1502 amp @ 4 oms from a Yamaha receiver on the pre amp ports. I looked at a lot of subs in this price range, big names etc. I am really glad i chose this one, 18" 1200 watt sub that weights 145lbs holly smoke. On certain tunes my house feels like there is an earthquake. The enclosure came well packed and undamaged, the card board box took a beating. If this was dropped during shipping there would be damage for sure. Normal handling will do fine, it was in the back of the ups truck sliding around on floor when it was delivered and very dirty as i live in a rural area 2 mile of dirt rocky road. I pulled the speaker to wire from 1 ohm to 4 ohm to match my amp specs and got a look at the inside of the cabinet, has internal bracing and overall ok and worth the money, looks good in my theater room. For me and the way i am using this , very happy. This was a good deal. I have everything dialed in now and it is about as loud and bangs about as much as i need. I recommend this setup.
I received the pre loaded enclosure package very well packed no damage due to shipping after having it a couple of months, speaker holds up very well. I am using a audio pipe 2000.1.
They only complaint that I have is that I chose the cheaper box and it keeps blowing apart, so I'm am constantly having to fix it.
